April Pedro came to the Plum Studios Salon a few years ago with multicolored hair due to her own at home experimenting on herself and family with hair color.  Her modern sense of style in clothing and makeup could not be overlooked.

She had already been a student intern at Burlingame’s Champagne Salon.  There she had become interested in many types if hair extensions and skilled at  “back bar” servicing and color applications.

Aprils interest grew  in becoming a licensed hair stylist and she then began her full time training at Marinello’s School of Cosmetology in San Mateo.  She continued helping out at our salon with a her new “stylist’s eye”.  Her dedication to learning sparked her to begin asking for  industry tips and tricks from Plum studios advanced stylists that love to share.  April has attended Brazilian Keratin Smoothing Certification Classes, our “In- Salon” advance Hair Cutting and has had training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in San Francisco.

April has shown a high standard of professionalism as well as a  natural talent  for hair.   She has even shown a few of our Stylist her techniques and purchasing advice for hair extensions.

Plum Studios Salon and April Pedro are working together, in creating a new apprenticeship program to support the salon and new stylists in the industry.   As a new stylist, April’s skills, service variety, pricing and clientele will build.    We are excited about her future .

Gloria has been a hair designer in SF bay area for over 16 years.  She received her advanced training with world renowned Yosh Toya in SF.   She later continued training with Trevor Sorbie, Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell and Hair police.  There is NO doubt she believes in keeping herself educated and current.

As a naturally curly hair stylist, Gloria has become an expert in the understanding of challenges curly hair can bring.   She enjoys helping people work with their gift of natural curl , as well as giving them the options in the industry.  From straightening highly textured hair, dreadlocks (interlock method, and even dread perms!), braids and extensions … Gloria is up on it ALL!!

Gloria’s creative passion can be tasted in the kitchen,  seen as she attends school for fashion design and felt in her salsa dancing and Brazilian samba.   Maybe you have seen her perform with a Brazilian dance ensemble.

After finishing her courses at cosmetology school, Dulce attended Gary Gerard’s Advanced Hair Styling Academy. While working as a full-time hair stylist, she also trained to become an Artistic Educator earning her Master Colorist Diploma.

Dulce enjoys working with clients and trying her best to accommodate all of their hair needs. Elena started her 15-year career as a hairstylist in Los Angeles. Being a “wide eyed” young hairdresser she tried to get involved with all the creative outlets this profession has to offer.

 Her work includes, hair and make-up on number of movie projects for students at AFI, LA Women’s Theater Shakespeare Company. Appearances on “Fashion Emergency” for E! As well as hair and make up for runway shows, advertising adds for “Sky Vodka” and a “Bel Aire Bridal Veils” catalogs.

 Her work was featured in Hispanic magazine, Modern Bride and Modern Salon. Her advance training with Vidal Sassoon, Sebastian, TIGI inspired her to become a artistic team member for “Fashion formulas by Ecoly” which took her to hair show platforms all over the USA as well as Japan. Originally from Russia she brings different look on fashion, hair, relationships and life in general.

With 12 years of experience, Frank comes to Plum Studios from the East Bay.    He is “a natural” with perfecting short to long hair cutting and styling.  He will not only tell you what product to use, he will show you how to use the product to get your hair to simply style into place.
